It has a small holdfast and very short thin stipe which is less than 60cm long and can be easily torn off rocks in stormy weather. It can be sustainably harvested from Spring to autumn.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePreparation\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTo rehydrate: Soak in cold water for up to 10 mins. The soaking liquid can also be used.\u003cbr\u003eSalted: Wash salt off thoroughly before use.\u003cbr\u003eFresh: Rinse gently before use.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCooking\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCan be used dry (wipe gently before use), fresh (or rehydrate) or cooked – simmer for up to 40mins.\u003cbr\u003eBoil\/Steam: Simmer for up to 30mins then serve as a vegetable with butter.\u003cbr\u003eCool, slice and add to salads.\u003cbr\u003eBoil with beans to make Asian bean deserts and ice creams.\u003cbr\u003ePickling: Adding Sugar kelp to vegetables while pickling them adds a pleasant depth and savouriness to the finished dish.
