The cross is made from willow, a fast-growing, sustainable material due to its soil carbon sequestration (an important mechanism that removes carbon dioxide from the air and storing it in the soil.

When kept dry, willow vessels will last a lifetime, but are completely biodegradable when returned to the earth. 

Trish harvests the willow entirely by hand, using secateurs and sorts the rods manually, depending on the colour, shape and size.

The Willow is soaked in water prior to it being worked with.  There is nothing artificial used on any of their products.

How to Use:
Hang the feeder from a sturdy branch and fill it with large suet balls.

Trained with a member of the Irish Professional Basket Makers, these 2 willow growers and basket weavers harvest their willow entirely by hand, using secateurs and sorts the rods manually, depending on the colour, shape and size. The catkins that flower on willow in February and March are a beautiful early food source for bees.
